Mt Washington auto road w/pix

Spent all yesterday riding 325 miles and rode my Nomad up to an altitude of 6288 feet above sea level. The day was generally overcast, but there were many breaks in the clouds and they parted frequently while I was aloft on the mountain. I rode up in 2nd gear all the way and it was much easier than by car as there is much more room on the road with just motorcycles. It was fairly cool at the summit and the ride down was even easier with several stops for pictures and to cool the brakes. We got rained on once riding up route 16 between North Conway and the start of the auto road. Here are some pics of the trip.

Yes that is snow you see in two of the pictures. The first is from the Kancamagus Highway looking toward, but not seeing Mt Washington.

So much for the tale of that road being paved the whole way... I didn't think so...

That first pic off the Bear Notch?

First pic is a turnoff on the Kanc not too far from Bear Notch. No, the auto road is not completely paved yet, but mostly.
