Even though I give you a hard time, sorry to hear you have to sell your bike.

I've been there too with the bills left by the ex...... It sucks but that's life....

Good luck selling....

Get busy and do what it takes to make yourself better. There will always be motorcycles. You only get two arms and shoulders.

Tendonitis, torn rotator cuff and either a torn ligament or muscle. Elbow problems include tendonitis and probably a bone spur.

Geez... So I assume you are not sleeping as well as you would like these days. I only hope whatever caused it was worth it. I suppose not though.

Not sure what the bike is worth (other than the occasional joke we post); but $15k seems to be a fair price.

I'll keep my head-up for anyone looking for a bike and even ask my neighbor. His first bike ever was a chopper. His wife cannot ride with him at all and does not like the idea of not riding. I'll mention your bike to him and see if he is interested. We are not that far from Indiana. Cannot promise anything though, other than I'll look and ask around.

Hope you feel better sooner than later. Your injuries are going to take quite a while to heal -- as I am sure you know.

Need a definant diagnosis of what prob is before treatment, MRI or go to good ortho MD, not a surgeon for diagnosis. Good out patient PT can help you get back on your feet...er... hands...uh...shoulders?

Chris...did you have a specific injury that caused the rotator cuff to tear? How long ago did you tear it?

I haven't slept well in about 20 years. Ambien helps. I tend to sleep on my left side as sleeping on my right side hurts after about 2 hours.

The bike is worth what I'm asking. My price isn't a screaming deal but it's not a rip off, either. Let your buddy know. I'd like to sell it as soon as I can so I can get out from under the debt (and it's just sitting in the garage) but if I have to wait til spring, so be it. There's a backrest available for use without the trunk but it's pricey at about $400. With the trunk on, it's probably about the same comfort as your Ultra. (I've never been on the back of the Vision so I'm just guessing.)

Thanks.

I'm a primate. I can walk on my hind legs.

I've had xrays and been seen by an orthopedist. My shoulder has been bothering me off and on for years but never this bad. If I'm careful, I can go most of the day without aspririn. Odd but a LITTLE movement seems to help. A lot of movement or zero movement makes it worse. The torn rotator cuff isn't a new feeling. I dislocated my left shoulder about 15 years ago so I know what that feels like. Doc injected something in my shoulder then probed it. Steroids helped both my shoulder and elbow. A tendonitis arm brace (no idea what the "real" name is) worked some for my elbow. Too bad they don't make something like that for a shoulder.

My bike doesn't really vibrate (and the handlebars are rubber isolated anyway) but since I don't move my arm when I'm riding, my right arm tends to hurt after a while. Sometimes, I can get an hour of riding before it's just too much. Other times, a quick 15 minute trip to town hurts. On a longer trip, I'll set the cruise control and move my arm around a little bit which helps.

No idea. Maybe it's just some problem with me. I dislocated my left shoulder in '98 in a work related injury, I've had left knee surgery and after a day on my feet, my "right" knee hurts (of course, I'm 275#), I've had back surgery for a couple blown out discs, I've broken both wrists, an ankle and a foot. I've had more than a few severely strained muscles that required more than rest but less than surgery. I'm not a rock climber, race car driver or athlete. Could be my weight or my diabetes. Might be that I'm just defective.

Shoulder injury has been worse for me than back or knee. All I can say is....my favorite motto "if you you want to keep moving.......keep moving!"

To be quite frank....I need to keep telling myself...lose the frickin weight and everything will be better....including my outlook. The rest is just making excuses.

Sometimes tough love with yourself is the best remedy. Good luck.

The diabetes isn't a good thing with injuries or health in general. Sorry to hear about this. Getting the weight off, getting the sugar under control will be half of it. The other half may require surgery or at least PT. Getting old ain't for sissies.
