Do you have HD part #?

Also you have a Reckless Fairing ?
They make them for the HD fairings (you would have to drill to mount as the HD have the holes already, but Kuryakyn has them available like these here:
http://www.kuryakyn.com/Products/839...er-Dragon-Wing

I saw them on an HD fairing at the Toronto MC show and tax in could have had them for 100.00 but will wait till April show as wanted to measure for installation first.
They look cool and open too for extra ventalation, sleek

Scott

Those are perfect !

I have the standard HD wind deflectors on my fairing, I added them a few years ago to my Premeux fairing, they come already drilled with inserts for them. They only cost me about $32.00 if I remember correct. There are a couple different varieties available.

That is the price I was quoted and they look exactly like the ones you have there. One thing, do you have a larger picture of the fairing showing it and the lowers you have to see the distance? I have a set of home made Moxy style lowers that I may have to modify for these? Would for sure with the hard lowers as well or remove. It looks like a nice setup on yours. I've even seen them on HD that are cable or electric driven, seems a bit overkill to make them electric???
Also since they were on your HD fairing, does it look like someone drilled the holes for them to fasten or did it have the holes already (I know maybe difficult to tell but the pre-existing holes apparently have a dimple in them).

Yes they open up and pivot as you say. My plexi glass lowers are large ones. Not sure if they were "home made". They come under the dragon fly's and then there is approx. 1/8 to1/4 inch between the lowers and the dragon flys. No cables/elec. Notsure why you'd need that. it's an HD fairing so I assume they were pre existing.

Here's a photo from the other side showing you the bolt/screws holding them on.

Thanks that is exactly what I wanted to see. I could mount them, but will have to take my fairing apart to do so as would need to put nuts behind the fairing in order to mount them properly. I also would need to slightly cut my home made "moxy style" lowers down a bit, but no big deal, could even redesign them slightly to make them work if I do get the hard lowers. Appreciate the photo, helps me in my decision to get either. And those dragon fly's do look like the link I mentioned earlier.

Regards

Scott

Scott; If you use those nut inserts you won't have to seperate the fairing to install the deflectors. Princess Auto sells them and the installation tool.

Yes I know the ones your speaking of, however due to it being into Fiberglass I would rather mount them behind with a larger washer to ensure it will hold. It may work fine with those inserts, but I don't want to take a chance due to the possible stress to crack from wind. If I had no other choice, fine but I may have to take the fairing apart anyway to install a power amplified antenna I want to install and maybe a small amp?.

Appreciate the info however, and is a good alternative solution.

Regards

Scott

Thanks. Once I get the dragon fly's I'll post some pics of it finished. I may even do a how to for them for others who don't have holes in there HD/Reckless etc batwing fairing how to mount them.
I have the idea on DOING it already and attachment etc.

Lots of mods I want to do in the coming weeks/month.

I have to move the bike from my portable into the garage soon and start the teardown for different items I want to do.

Regards

Scott
