I spoke yesterday with the manager at our base lodging in Crescent City, site of the 2011 Rally in the Redwoods. I will be able to post the name and location of the base probably sometime in the next week or two. You will want to make your reservations ASAP once posted...as I have 30 rooms blocked out and I believe they will go pretty quickly.... ;)

Does Crescent City have a major airport? Or, where would be the best place if someone wanted to fly into there (as economical as possible)?

Todd,
Crescent City is a small little coastal town with few roads leading to it. The closest major city is San Francisco. It would be a 350 mile drive straight up Hwy 101 (6.5 hours) or so from there.

After flyin' across the country! How about Reno or Sacremento? It $500+ to fly to Crescent City and my frequent flyer miles wont get me to that airport.

1200 miles across to Astoria and then down the 101. I'll have a chat with Mrs DrNo and see if she is up for that. This would be such a wonderfull ride, we'd need to take about 2 weeks off to do. Hate to go by this scenery too fast. (by the way the chip clip is working great still, u all should get one lol)

I made my reservation today. 350 miles one way....just like a trip to the store for milk!

Todd, you might want to look into your options flying into Medford ,only 113 miles to Crescent City and a nice ride.

Delta can get you from Greensboro to Medford for $438 roundtrip total....don't know what it would be in reward miles.

Did some looking, all of the west coast airports (even San Fran.) are going to cost you more than $425. You can fly into Denver cheaper than that at $275. Then you could ride in with our bunch.
