Maggie Valley, NC Video... Just in case...

Just in case anyone in the North Central Region was thinking about going to the KawaNOW National Rally in Maggie Valley, NC but haven't quite made up your mind... take a look at this video.

You'll get an idea of what the riding will be like there.

That really is a beautiful area. I have never been to the Confederate States....and I would love to visit them sometime... :)! So much beauty and so much history....just not enough time or money. Aside from being too far away from me...I would have to say kudos for the choice of location for the National Rally!

This is going to be good boys and girls!!!

I know someone down there that "maps-out" rides for people.

His maps and routes are good enough that he is able to sell them and has a business to do so.

I emailed him to see what is around the area beyond what I could map-out... I can tell you; this IS going to be a really great place to ride!

The more I read and scope out the MV area... there is no wonder that area is rated so high for great motorcycle riding.

As far as "riding-roads"; this should be a lot better than the more famous Black-Hills area -- although that was a great area to ride.

Wanted to let everyone know that we are planning on being at the National Rally/Maggie Valley, NC. I'll get my reservations in this week. Wouldn't want to miss this one!!

I'll have to find out when and where to hook up with some riders on the way.

I haven't done much except lurking on the Kawanow site for a month or two. Had a torn meniscus on my left knee with surgery almost a month ago. It is healing very well but for a couple months prior to that, it was pretty unbearable. All I could do is look at my Nomad and ask myself, "Am I ever going to get to ride again?" It is hell getting old! But I'm good to go now!!! Lost 34 1/2 lbs and still working on it. Gots to take it easy on these ol' knees.

We are planning to trailer some and I'll ride mostly. Like we did going to Custer. After the rally we may break off like we did coming home from Custer. We used to live in South Carolina and may want to look up some old friends. We'll know more when at that time.

Looking forward to meeting up with you all again. It is always a good time. BnG

What's with the weight loss? WOW!!

With you losing so much weight, and Ponch slimming himself down... we basically now have lost the equivalent of a member here!!!! Seriously; glad to hear things are looking up for you and that you are returning the the lean-mean machine of your youth.

Regarding the National... hopefully you've noticed the thread here on the NCR board about plans made so far. Just let us know if we can connect with you on the way down.

So far we have:

Me (and Kendra)(We will be pulling my trailer; but I plan on riding)
Cal
Gibby
Dmac (and Sally)
Rayski
Stretch
Bluekaw1600 (and Mel)
Alley Kat (Bluekaw's buddy)

8-bikes and counting for the ride down strating from Illinois on Sat the 11th arriving for stay in Columbus, IN then departing Sun 12th for MV for check-in at the base hotel.
