How do I lower the inner windshield?

You have to loosen, all those screws that mount your windshield to the bike (not the ones that you use to adjust it up and down). Then adjust your inner shield, then retighten the bolts. When I still had my factory shield, I just removed the inner shield, 'cause you can't clean between the paynes.

How do I lower the inner windshield?

You might have to remove the entire windshield, lay it down on a padded, flat surface and loosen all the bolts surrounding the lower windshield, you may even have to remove the side brackets. The reason is because there is a rubber gasket between the steel brackets and the lower windshield, and the acrylic windshield tends to stick to the rubber gaskets and you can't slide it without difficulty. It's good to disassemble it now and then and clean between the 2 windshields and the gaskets, etc. Make sure you note which bolts go where, (there are 2 different lengths). Learn from my mistakes.

How do I lower the inner windshield?

Thanks for the help. I noticed that one side of the windshield will not tighten up at all.

How do I lower the inner windshield?

http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmot...-2007/o/m10072

When you open the link above, scroll down on the schematics and click on "Cowling". That gives you a drawing of the windscreen components and part numbers/prices. It is the 4 bolts shown that have to be loosened to slide the sub shield down. It is best remove the windscreen from the bike and rinse between the two well before attempting to slide the small screen up or down. There will be dirt/sand trapped between them that will scratch both. Experience talking....
PS-Bike Bandit has been good to deal with on my end.
