Upcoming trip

Gonna go up and visit family in Ohio. Probably leaving July 12. Riding up with a fellow rider from down here that has a son that lives not too far from my hometown. May try to get over to the NE/E Canada rally in PA if I have the time.

Just hoping that the weather cools a little or this will be a Beotch of a long run up.

Ron, where are you headed in Ohio? I made it home there to Mansfield last summer. That trip was dry all the way from Idaho to Ohio to Maggie Valley to Colorado Springs before I got rained on. (I missed the storm in MV)

I miss the green in Ohio more than anything.

Bud, I'm heading to Fremont, OH; a little north of Mansfield. I'm going to ride some with my brother when I am up there, he bought an '08 from one of the guys on here earlier this summer.

Tom, I'll let you know. I'm probably going to stop in Cleveland and see DJ, Goose and the crew if I can on the way up or the way back. Don't know where our stops will be because my friend is riding with me. His riding preferance is not an exact match to mine, so I don't know what kind of time/distance we will make in a day. I prefer a 5-6 stop, one day trip myself

Just got back from the trip. 1,060 miles on the first day and 2,600 total. Good trip, no problems.

Overall it was a good trip. Missed out on meeting up with any other VBA members on the trip up/back and while I was there due to time and family considerations. Got to ride with my brother a couple times while in Ohio. He bought an '08 Nomad off a forum member. We rode up around Lake Erie and some of the areas around our home town.

We came back through WV, VA, NC, SC, GA and FL. Way up was straight up I-75, FL, GA, TN, KY and OH. Rained on us both ways, 7 hours of rain on the way up and about 4 hours on the way back.
