Sticker Removal

Just cleaned all the stickers off the new bike. That was WAY more of a chore than I anticipated.

Took about and hour and a half.

Just in case anyone is going to take this on what worked for me was a plastic razor blade, a hair dryer to heat up the stickers, and some Meguair's EZ clean. Still took multiple applications and elbow grease but it will come off eventually. Have faith!

It's amazing how much better a bike looks with warning stickers everywhere

It really ticked me off that the dealer threw on stickers advertising the business on the back of the bike. I should have made them remove them before taking ownership but I just wanted to get out of there.

The longer they're on, the harder they are to get off. Zippo lighter fluid works good to get the glue off and doesn't harm the clearcoat. On the dealer stickers............ I would have told him to get them off, or put $500 in my hand, then I'd went home and taken them off.

Never thought of zippo. I have the matte finish so I don't have to worry about clear coat.

Goo Be Gone is your friend for adhesive removal.

That stuff is strong. I was a little worried about it taking paint off with the adhesive.

WD 40 works great on stickers too. Just give it a little time to soak in

The matte finish is still a clear coat. The final paint stage is a matte clear. If you polish or buff it too much it will actually start to get a gloss look back.

Thanks for the tips. This is one of the next things on my to do list. Who would have thought removing warning labels would take longer than installing an exhaust? haha

I should have clarified. I was talking about the matte plastic saddlebags but I didn't know that about the matte paint. Thanks for the tip.
