First off, welcome to the board. Second, can you give us any details about the starting problems? I've got a 1500, and the only time she is hard starting is if its cold outside. Even then, pull the choke, hit the starter and she usually fires right up.

Your battery may be getting weak. Ive noticed that they will crank and crank but can be stubborn to fire with an older battery.
With a new battery installed they will crank over and fire much faster. This would be my first hunch.
It could also be old spark plugs that need replacing, dirty air filter, and a throttle body that needs cleaning.

Ring is right about the battery. I also had an issue with the kick stand switch. I replaced it and it has been doing ok. I too notice a hard start after it sits a while. Sometimes I can pull the choke out all the way out then and it cranks fine. Other times I may have to push it in initially let it fire up then pull the choke out all the way for it to crank. Usually after warming up the choke knob goes back in on it's own (mine is a carbed 1500). I also have about 75,000 on mine.
