Getting an Early Start

I've been on vacation for close to a week now but we were obligated to stick around for a family wedding this past weekend. Now with most of the out of town family gone we are hitting the road on our way to the Rally. It'll be slow progress at first as the first day we are only covering 240 km before stopping at my folks place and spending a day or two on the water at Lake of the Woods. Then on Thursday we will really start rolling. Here's a couple of maps outlining our planned route to the rally. We will have about 2-3 days of cushion in the plans for rest days or weather delays.

Looking forward to meeting everyone in Canmore in a few weeks, I'll try to update our travel progress as we go.

Couldn't help but notice the entire avoidance of green rider country. I did hear there were 14 actual corners on the #1 from Manitoba to Alberta with the odd 8 degree bend thrown in to wake you up.

When are you doing Beartooth Pass? I'll be doing that one on the 11th of July. I'm taking a week before the Rally, meeting a buddy coming up from AZ and doing Yellowstone, E. Wyoming and Beartooth pass, before heading back towards Spokane and then North to meet a group in Colville,Wa. on the way to Canmore. Have fun and we'll see you in Canmore if not before.

Looks awesome. We are riding Chief Joseph hwy and Beartooth pass on the way there too. We are also adding Going to the sun road in Glacier park. Curious if you have you ridden before?

We are relaxing at my parents cottage on Lake of the Woods in Northwestern Ontario with plans to hit the highway tomorrow.

As far as some of the questions, the only thing that takes me to Mullen, NE as it was on the route I decided to follow which admittedly I partially poached from routes posted by usranger74 and petenomad.

I'm not sure what days we'll hit the Beartooth as we've built a few cushion days into the travel, I'll have a better idea by the weekend likely. I left the Going to the Sun road out of the trip to the rally as I was getting tight for days and would have had to skip visiting my folks. Our current plan is to leave the rally and dip back down into Montana to ride it as well as to pass through Devils Tower and the Black Hills again on the way home.

Any chance to avoid the riff raff of the Rider nation is a good choice

If you see a 07 nomad, Candy Red/Metallic Titanium(me) riding with a Victory Vision, give a wave. I'll see you at the rally, have a good ride.
