Calling all edmonton area 1700 vucan owners lets do a group ivans group ivans flash

I am sure wanting to wake up my Vulcan 1700 with a Ivan's ECU Flash. The problem I find is our Canadian Dollar sucks compared to American Dollar. I was thinking if there would be enough of us 1700 owners in the Edmonton area we could all send them into him at once and maybe get a discount from Ivan if we had enough interest.

This would not happen till end of riding season here in Edmonton area. Sometime I would think in first part of November.

So if any of you are interested please please leave me a message with your email address and name so I can contact you later in fall after riding season. I sure and I hope Ivan would understand our problem and with a group purchase discount the procedure a bit to help out us starving Canadian bikers.

So any interest in the Edmonton area I will collect your email addresses and contact you later in the fall of date if he would agree.

Dave

Dave,
I believe that the Ivan flash is only offered for the 1700's, right? I did not see anything on his website about the 2008 and older 1600's. I assume that they have a different EFI system.

Yes, right now it covers the 1700's but I think he could make a killing if he did this for the 1500's and 1600's.

Wouldn't it be better to contact Ivan first and see if he will give you a group buy?

nope

Be better to contact him when you have lots of orders to back him. Why would he give a special price when you have nothing. If you have something then he would probably enter into some agreement. No one gives a better price when there is nothing on the table first. I surely would not that would be just stupid of anyone in business.

This arrangement would be a logistical nightmare. Even if Ivan offered a discount on volume (but seriously, why would he?), it'd be eaten up on freight and exchange rate. Not to mention the clusterf**k sorting out the ECU's upon return. All it takes is one ECU going to the wrong owner. Hope it works out for ya

best thing the Canada member could do would be to drive over the border and send them out, assuming some one has a relative or a PO box they could use. I'm not sure how customs are if they would raise a flag with multiple units etc.

It may never start unless Ivan is receptive to it. Why would he be, he has no competition. You either pay the $350 or you don't get it done. Its not like he is worried about you going elsewhere.

Experience has taught me that trying to organize any type of group thing is like trying to herd cats. You guys might be having to each do your own thing. And as redjay has pointed out, is Ivan even receptive to doing a group deal?

Just my 2 cents worth, anyways.

I see a Canadian-New York ride in the future.....cool ride and no cluster whatchamacallits. Also chance to meet new riders. If you all went at once and stayed in the local area (NY) overnight, I'll bet Ivan could get em all done at the same time!
