Petenomad trip to NW rally.

Wow, we need to win the lottery so we can just ride the Rockies from now on.
This trip was all about the scenery and the fantastic roads.

Here's a link to the still pics we took on our trip. Have hours of video, that I need to edit to a reasonable length to share.

Nice pics! Looked like a great ride...

Thanks for sharing... and letting me drop-in on this region's board.

I assume the Spyder held-up just fine on the trip.

Txs for posting - looks like a nice trip.

I know what you mean about riding in the Rockies. I hope to take two weeks next year in addition to the Nat. Rally and cruz them hills.

Greg, the Spyder did great. Absolutely no issues. We did wait about 4 hours for a somewhat clueless dealer to change the oil. Ann got lots of compliments on her fantastic "paint" job. We took it from Canmore to Banff on the off day and so I got to ride it through some twisties for the first time. It handles the switchbacks (25 and under turns) much better than the Nomad. I think with just a bit more practice, I could take any curve on the Spyder as fast (or faster) as the Nomad.

Not to get "off-subject"... but the biggest challenge you have to get-over to take the Spyder fast around curves (without setting-off the Nanny-System)... is simply to get used to the lateral pull you get on it -- which does not exist on a bike. Secondly, leaning forward and toward the inside of the curve puts you in the right position to lower your center of gravity, and to help keep the front-inside wheel on the ground -- which keeps the Nanny from activating. I am able to take tight corners every bit as fast as any bike now; and sometimes faster. It just doesn't feel as good as it does on a bike though.

Glad to hear you didn't have any problems with it. I am still working on my wife to get licensed to ride ours. That would nice on longer trips to ride one-up; while knowing she'll be fairly safe on 3-wheels. I can definitely see why Spyders are becoming extremely popular and their sales growing unbelievably.

Again... nice pics, and thanks for sharing.

Great pictures! Looking forward to going back that way someday. You can never see it all in one trip. The motorcycle has opened so many roads to all of us.
