Car Tire for 2006 Nomad for rear, riding 2-UP
A regular motocycle jack doesnt work?
I looked up Idaho adapters, but they look like they only work with Sears lifts. I bought mine from Northern tool, not sure the difference Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Having Idaho's adapter sure makes it easier, and yes the adapter will work with th Northerntool jack as well. I did my first swing arm without an adapter. Very difficult! I removed my saddle bags first, placed 4 1" thick wooden blocks (2 with openings for the tabs) on the jack. I eased the bike up and placed jack stands under the saddle bag guard.

Thats how I did it. I forgot where I got the idea from. Scrap square tube would be best. Be careful.

I just have to say.............I met Bud in Custer for just a few minutes and he is somebody you'd leave your kids with, or the guy you hope rides up when your wife or daughter breaks down on a dark highway. That's Bud's idea and he builds them and sells them for as reasonable as he can.
I also have to say I don't own an Idaho Adapter because I built something different that dose the same thing and didn't post pictures to prevent any sales loss to him. In my opinion, his is more user friendly anyway. Having said that, "It is what it is" and you'll need one in the next few days and I don't think Bud has one right now. When theres a bargain out there or one vendor is out of stock I certainly make a purchase somewhere. I just had to put that out there.

Yes, I agree. I tried to grab him on the for sale section, but he ran out. I'm always giving fellow members or suppliers first chance, but since he is outta stock, and I dont know when he will have more, I'll go ahead and buy it today, as the rear tire comes in tomorrow, and I want to get it on as soon as possible, as my rear tire is bald
See here where I replied I'll take one, but he was sold out all ready ;( http://www.vulcanbagger.com/phpBB3/v...ic.php?t=20245 Thanks |

Yes, and I do come up to N/C to ride the smokies, so I'll be keeping in touch this summer when we come up, maybe we'll have a north meet south meet & greet or something in N/C

I am thinking of selling or trading the Nomad and feel it would be easier without a car tire on the rear.

FYI, my friends selling a Gold Wing, and the CT has been raising allot of concerns. It's not for everyone, and I had the same problem selling my Venture about a year ago with the CT on the rear

Wow, this tire is a Beast ! After spending a hour today mounting it with a buddy at his house, I just got the tire back on and on the splines!
Took a hour of wiggeling, moveing the jack up & down, yelling, screaming, back bracking, but its on!! Man thats a HEAVY tire assembley Time to start bolting things back together :) |
