coolant level

can anyone tell me how high the coolant level should be in the bottle? mine has no marks on it to tell the level. i have noticed it also boiling back into the overflow after a hot ride, is this normal? as this is my first water cooled bike its all a bit new to me. thanks,mc.

hi mc your coolant level should be about half way i dont know about the boiling bit sorry.

Check and make sure your fan is working EDS knows all about that one ask his wife on Sunday.

good one glen yea. i did have problem on my classic the fan did not come on and water started to boil out the over flow pipe i hate to say it but my wife is a service manager in a garage said check your fuse for your fan and yep that was the problem..may help you i don:t know. mags is not coming on sunday. i am going to have to tough it on my own

thanks guys that was a lot of help. i will check the coolant and fan out tommorrow. i just came back from a ride and it was making a gentle boiling sound when i put her back in the shed.
