swing arm removal

The manual says to remove the rear exhaust pipe to remove the swing arm.Macmac's instruction says to just remove the mufflers. Can the long pivot bolt be removed without removing the rear exhaust?I looked at the bolt and there is not much clearance. It looks llike the bolt is removed from the right side.

Sometimes its easier to remove the complete pipe, header and all.
The mufflers sometimes seize onto the pipe and can be a chore to get off.
I can't remember if it has to come off to get at the swing arm for sure.

I just did mine a couple of weeks ago; the rear cylinder exhaust pipe must come off from the cylinder head to the goats belly. You will need a new exhaust gasket for the head.

Been a long time since I have seen a stock exhaust. If memory serves the rear pipe is blocking the long bolt from coming out all the way, and all the way out it must be.

If you have a goat belly, it should come down too, as the rubber mounts will probably need to be replaced. Even if these are not cooked, they will be, and the threads to them need anitseize... or when you do decide the rubber mounts need to be replaced they wont' come off.
