I would agree with that for my neck of the woods at least! That's one of the reasons I got 18k miles on the rear tire for my 900 Custom, even with my "slightly heavy" right wrist. ;)

IMHO Meers is HIGHLY over rated. But then I live in the area so..........Actually the best part is the ride on 115.

Yeah I love 115, which is why I said we HAVE to hit the refuge...and I agree about overrated but the cobbler is good and the ride is fun so it's worth it. Mo, I imagine we will meet you in Newcastle, I would say at the Sonic along 277.

I think a lot of places are over-rated, but it's the experience that makes it worth it. It's a destination ride for us guys in the NE part of the state, so it'll be fun.

Sonic in Newcastle it is. How much time do you need to get there? We can stop on our way there so I can send you a text and let you know we're getting close. My cell is 918-232-1927. If we leave Tulsa around 8, I'd think we'd be in Newcastle by 9:30-10 if we take Rt 66 over.

I would expect closer to 10:30 if you are taking 66 down, I only need about 10 minutes to get there...my buddy needs longer so I will meet up with him at 9:45 at sonic and grab a drink or something while waiting.

Ran the bike over to Kinetic on lunch, new shoe going on today! Hard to see how that tire will fit when you're holding it and looking at the fender, but the Avon Cobra 180/70-16 got a lot of good reviews here, so did it! For looks (sidewall, tread pattern, etc) it's top notch! I'll make sure to give accurate reviews as it wears...

Wish you could come with us, Skeeter! We'll get a ride in soon, though. Also, once I get the garage tidied up, I'll hit ya with those extra 9'er parts. ;)

Got used to the Nomad on the flattened Excedra it had on it, so a new round tire combined with the mold release still on it (wore off about 40 miles worth so far) made it feel a little squirrely! LOL

They only aired it up to about 35lbs psi, so gonna pull a saddlebag and run it up to 40 tonight, then we'll see. It also corrected the speedo to within 2-3 mph (was off by about 5-6 mph all the way up through 65 before), so that's a nice bonus!

Got room for one more? I haven't been down that way for a while, so I better check to see if they have moved Mt. Scott or anything like that.

I'm sure the more the merrier!

BTW, please note: Meers does NOT accept credit cards, but rather cash and LOCAL checks only. (according to their website) Be prepared! And since it sounds like there will be more than 6 of us, a 15% grautuity will be added. Personally, I feel like they cheat themselves out of tip money when they do that, but if that's all they want from me, that's all they'll get. ;)

Question about the wildlife reserve part... Sapulpa to Meers is going to take us about 4 hours, about an hour for lunch (estimation), then about an hour and a half north to Hinton (estimating about 3:00 p.m.), then back toward the NE. That will make for about a 9.5 to 10 hour day, plus gas/stretch stops. (that's figuring in taking I-40 most of the way back from Hinton for speed) We gonna have time to add an hour through the refuge too?

Refuge isn't an hour...I would 20-30 minutes tops from unless you want to stop, it is just a cool to ride through as it is to stop

Now if we go up Mt. Scott that will add time
