If my truck had not come with the spray in I would have gone the rubber mat route. Had one in a prevous pick up. Worked out fine. Just gotta clean under them once in awhile.

I didn't read this whole post so...........
I had a rubber mat in one of my previous trucks and didn't like the fact it would roll up or crimp together at times while loading things in the box.
I have drop in liner on the truck I have now that came with it. It is not a good fit and I think stuff gets underneath it.
I think a spray in liner would be the way to go.

Must have been a light mat Tim. Mine stays put unless I try to drag instead of lift something heavy like a fridge, but it is at least a 1/4 thick fits tight around the wheel wells and weighs quite a bit.

I got a quote for a Line-X liner and it came in just shy of $800. After much consideration and more research I've decided to go with a DualLiner. I like the look of the liner. I also like the ease of install and the fact that I can remove it unlike a spray-on liner. Not to mention that it cost me less than half of what Line-X costs. Now I can take the leftover money and buy a Tonneau cover.

Didn't your truck have a Tonneau cover on it when we were out having lunch?
