Newbie Questions

I sold my 2004 Nomad and bought the new 2010 Kawi Concours C-14 this year. Love the Connie but my back doesn't so I'm going back to the Nomad.

Here's my question should I buy a 2010 or wait for the 2011.

Id wait and see what the 2011's look like, and how they are priced, and then make your decision.Id probably go with the Voyager myself.

I've ridden the new Voyager and sat on plenty of 1700 Nomads. None of them have the room of the 1600 ('05-'08)....but those don't have some of the other upgrades.....like more cc's, 6 speed and cruise.

In a perfect world....Kawi would build an 1800 cc motor with 6 speeds and cruise control.....and put in on the 1600 platform with the old bags. OMG...they would rule the metric cruiser world.... ! A guy's gotta be able to dream, right... ;)??

I would wait and see what the 2011s look like. It shouldn't be too long before some information is released on them. If you don't like them, I'm sure you can find a great deal on a 2010 that a dealer wants to get rid of. It will be interesting to see what the 2011s will feature.

Guess I would just wait and see what the 2011 has to offer. If you are someone that can't wait then I would go ahead and buy now.

Welcome Rumrunner.
I guess it is all a matter of personal opinion. I prefer the look and stretch room of the 08 and earlier nomads, but the new voyager sure has my attention. Based on the fact that a lot of time and money goes into a revamp of any bike, I would not expect any major change for 2011, just maybe some tweaking. Waiting till the 2011's come out just to see and then looking for a 2010 is not a bad idea at all. Right now there are still a few unsold 2009's at dealers around here, at least there were a little while ago.

Since you're in B.C. you can check this out easily, $4350 off on a two-tone 09 Nomad:

http://www.richmondmotorsport.com/

As far as '11 Nomads, I don't think there will be any visual changes made to them so soon but I'm really hoping Kawasaki solves the problem associated with the belt 'cause it's the only major drawback for me. I'm also hoping new Nomads already incorporate the heat shield fix that the first iteration of 1700s were upgraded with (for free).

If only Kawasaki put the new motor and instruments on the '08 platform including the shaft drive. I hope they will resolve the belt issue on '11 models, I could learn to like the new bags ;)

Thanks for all the replies. I'm not in a hurray so waiting to compare the 10's and 11's is in order.

I'm not sold on the belt drive either and hopefully the 2011's will address any issue.
