I ordered the Reckless fairing with a 5" windshield. The email I got says it should be here by 03-11.
I ordered it with the 5" windshield, but I will be getting a taller one to use for touring. Any suggestions on how tall I need and where to get one?

I suggest fastaire.com for replacement windshields. They are in Reno and their prices and service can't be beat. I'm around 6'1" and find that an 8" windshield works well for me. I don't ride two-up, so I can't say if that would work with a passenger.

Sonicelectronix.com
Crutchfield.com

Can't recommend a marine unit, though. I have a JVC automotive stereo in mine.

See here for the radio:

http://www.vulcanbagger.com/phpBB3/v...tart=45#333275

And here for the windshield heights:

http://www.vulcanbagger.com/phpBB3/v...=20855&start=0

I use " Clear-view " windshield with the re-curve. The re-curve trows the air over the windshield another 1-1/2" to 2", so you can use a 8" windshield, where other makes you would have to use a 10"

For riding solo and around town, I bought Clear-views 6-1/2" Dark grey with re-curve. It was $78.00

For riding 2-up, and long distance, I bought the 12" with re-curve

my wife LOVES the taller windshield, she doesn't feel like her heads in a pop corn machine

Here's link to their site:

http://clearviewshields.com/shop/product.php?id=11

If you go to inventory, and get a blemish, you cant even see their bl-ems, there so minor, and there's more savings

FYI , the Reckless windshield takes Harley Davidson
Electra Glide / Street Glide / Ultra Classic 1996 to Present
Shields

I got my shield from Long Rider Shields. They are now running $69.95, from 6" to 12", clear or three different tints. They do have some clearance items for $45. Good people to deal with and great products.

Just finished up my Reckless Fairing and that's going to be it for awhile. It was a great project and I think it came out pretty good.

Anyone ever think about cutting out a hole to fit a waterproof cover and install a glove box above the radio on a reckless fairing I have been looking at these last ones mounted and there seems to be a lot of room under windshield down to where radio mounts.

when I had my fairing split ( open ) I didnt see any reason why you couldnt.

I was thinking of doing with a double DIN radio, and trying to figure out if that would fit at the time also
