Are the Nomad rallies solely for adults?

I'm new to KawaNow, so I have a lot to learn! I find myself visiting the site quite often! ::) I want to know if the rallies are for adults only? My remaining child at home will be 13 at the time of the South Dakota rally, so I am curious if he would be able to go. I know that the trip is about 1850 miles one way from where I live, but he loves being a passenger! He can't wait to ride himself! Can anybody answer this?

Guess I will go out on the limb, freedomrider. First, welcome to the forum from Arizona. You have found a very good place for Nomad information amongst other things.

Yes, bring the family. We had family members at Mesquite. There is a lot to see in South Dakota and places in between. I am quite sure that your son will be kept occupied and not get bored. With Mt. Rushmore and the other historical areas, he will even get a history education that will be reasonably fun instead of a boring classroom.

Welcome to the sight freedomrider, I don't think having your son come along would be a problem. We usually have a meet and greet on the first day, then there is usually a ride planned each day, followed by dinner at a restaurant or pub. Most of us usually end up at the hotel rooms were we chat and visit for a while before turning in. He may find it a bit boring at times but if there is a pool or some movies for him he may get through the day without to much problems.

Seriously, there's no problem bringing the little folks along, that I can see. It may even influence them to ride when they are older, and seeing a parking lot full of Nomads is a sight to behold.

Welcome freedomfighter. We certainly don't mind families at rallies. Our rallies probably aren't as bad as other biker rallies. With the exception of looking at a beer or two and hearing a cuss word every now and then.

Welcome to the site from Texas. If my wife wasn't going to South Dakota with me, I'd probably be taking one of my grandsons. About the same age as your son.

Welcome Freedomrider. There's room for the kids in the KawaNOW Family. My daughter Sarah (14) attended the Central Rally and enjoyed herself. She will be in Custer next year as well.

A history teacher by trade, my wife Frances is already figuring out how we can get all the historical stuff into the trip. I may have to use up most of my vacation depending on how much she comes up with for the trip up and back, but it will be well worth it.
