Many years ago the practice of stopping for a funeral procession was done here. After some accidents, they stopped the stop practice. If I were traveling elsewhere I wouldn't think to stop for one.
If the driver of the truck is from that area, shouldn't he have known and attempted to stop for the funeral?
I am suprised that the truck driver had not slowed down because of the oncoming traffic being heavy.
Ultimately we are responsible for our actions, and in this case a late attempt to stop for stopped traffic.

I always pull over for an oncoming funeral procession if there is place to get completely off the highway. And only in my truck. I keep moving on my bike if possible.

That was a really close call. Wow. Very close to being a sandwhich. The bikers in front got lucky too, if they were a little bit closer, they woulda been TOAST too. Lucky guy, If worst come worst, I would have just gone off the side into the grass over taking a direct hit.
