Anyone tried Plasti Dip

What an interesting idea. Check out this web site: https://www.dipyourcar.com/pages/product-builder#5

So for about $500.00 including the sprayer, you could paint your MC just about any color. Don't like the color? peel it all off, will not damage the original paint.

to each there own, if you take your time and do it correctly it looks great. Of course the finish isn't as nice as a quality paint job but its a fraction of the cost. now granted most people don't take there time and follow the instructions so it typically turns out like crap haha.

I used it on a lot of my Yamaha Stryker chrome parts and it turned out great.

It has its purpose, and does look really good in certain applications. I did the alloy wheels on my truck, and they came out beautifully. If you do the prep work you can get good results with it.

Don't they recommend a peel & repaint every 6 months? This is not sold as a permanent solution and should not be treated as such.

I think it is a great way to 'try' a new look before making it permanent.

Camo your adventure bike for a trip into the back country, and Hi-viz it for commuting.

I test rode one before I bought the 1500. Just too large for me, and now the 1500 is too large also. Sucks to get old, but got a good replacement (2015 Kawi Versys 650 LT). Much easier to ride and still able to do touring + gravel roads.

Hmm.... I was thinking of a clear coat on the front of the fenders (3M product Champion sold me is crap) and possibly blue wheels to match the body color.
You say it's peeling in less than a year? wow!
Whole trike paint job is just cubic dollars in cost.....as much as a car costs, and everytime I go on a long trip the fenders just get hammered with all kinds of little paint chips.
Thought I might experiment with this.....

PlastiDip is great for the Gumball Rally, Robbing banks (Going around the corner and peel it off to change color), the Baja 500, I use it on alot of my wrenches which was what it was developed for....
Would be a great way to try out a new paint scheme for a bike though....
Lets bedliner some bikes!

This has been on mine for over 3 years and 12,000 miles none of its peeling or chipping and the lowers take a lot of abuse from rocks and bugs. Wet rag and a little scrubbing and they come right off and dip is fine.
It was original done just to see if I would like the color scheme. I didn't think it would holdup either. So now it still on to see how long it will last.
I even have some rock chips on my front fender in the paint that wasn't there before the dip. So it hold up better than paint.
I did it during the winter so it had time to cure till the spring which I think helped. Seem a little soft at first, but now is a harder durable surface.
I also use pinstriping tape along any edge I thought might get peeled up. Its all in the prep work and think it through. like any other project, take your time and do it right.
