Vulcan Riders World Rally 2018 Invitation The Vulcan Riders Association Western Australia is convening the second Vulcan Riders World Rally from 31 Oct to 4 Nov 2018. Vulcan owner riders from across the world are invited to join us for a few days of riding, socializing and generally having a good time. There will be an extended ride after the Rally for those wishing to visit some of Western Australia's tourist attractions. Ten reasons why you might want to be part of this event:  You will be part of the second Vulcan Riders World Rally and the proud owner of a Vulcan Riders World Rally 2018 patch  Vulcan riders are terrific people  You can visit Perth, the most remote capital city on the planet  The weather should be perfect – warm sunny days and cool nights  There are great day and extended rides to be had  It will be low-key and very social – we know how to have a good time  It may be the excuse you always wanted for visiting Western Australia  The magnificent south west of Australia is at your doorstep and is the gateway to the best ride across Australia to the east coast  You can sample great wines from a premier wine growing region  Western Australia has a really diverse landscape and very interesting people

Sounds like a good time. Are there Vulcans for hire in Australia? I am hoping to visit my son in New Zealand and have looked at renting bikes. For New Zealand don't need any larger than 300cc to enjoy most of the roads there.

Vra world rally 2018

Had riders from Europe attend last World Rally in 2015- they shipped their own bikes to Aus, stayed a couple of months.

Motorcycles
The event is open to all rider owners of Kawasaki Vulcan brand motorcycles. It is acknowledged that participants from ‘distant lands’ may choose to fly and hire a car or bike, in which case the requirement for you to arrive on a Vulcan is waived – provided you have one in the shed at home.
For those considering hiring a bike we offer the following list of businesses. Please note that the list may not include all of the bike-hire business that exist, however it covers those that we have been able to readily locate.

If you don’t live in Australia and are planning to temporarily import your bike, there are two options:

1. By making an application for TEMPORARY IMPORT SECURITY under section 162 of the Australian Customs Act. This requires lodgement of a security deposit equal to the duty value of the motorcycle. The security deposit is refunded when the motorcycle leaves Australia. The maximum time the motorcycle can remain in Australia is 12 months. These applications are best made through a customs broker. A Vehicle Import Approval (VIA) is required. There is a cost involved with VIA’s and a waiting period.
2. By using a CPD CARNET. A CPD carnet is an internationally recognised import document that guarantees payment of the import duty if the motorcycle remains in Australia longer than 12 months. A CPD carnet is organised at the person’s home country, generally through a motoring association. This method seems to be the easier one of the two. There is a cost and a bond is required for CPD Carnets. A Vehicle Import Approval (VIA) permit is not required if a carnet is used.
Detailed information about importing goods is available from the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service. Their website may be found at http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page4264.asp
