New Orleans is unbearably hot in the summer time and you'll likely find your Nomad striped if you turn your back on it. Bad enough we has 2 deer accidents, we don't need 2 gunshot victims to morn over. ???

Joe,

You are a true optimist...only two gunshot wounds?

I would like to mention the poll of May 11th - June 1st concluded with the selection of the Shenandoah Valley area as the majority(by 2 votes) choice. I know nothing is chiseled in stone but is another poll really needed? I would certainly entertain another poll but I'm just saying.........

Anyway, I usually go to the Robbinsville/Bryson City areas at least once a year for a Hayabusa function and for some Nomad riding and would find a new area refreshing.

The natural bridge area looks great. Thanks for posting the site. I would hope the senior staff draws the line with speedos, thongs for the girlies only!

A lot of talk about the next National has turned toward this side of the Mississippi...I am going to suggest this for that location also.........

Saving this till 2011 is probably better.

After hearing some thoughts while in Custer and here about our next National, I think we should stay the course for our rally and just settle on a host site. I am personally in favor of using Big Meadows.

Joe, about trailering...I trailered my bike to Helen, and probably will up to Virginia. Wife can only take a certain amount of time in the seat. ;)

2010 Rally

OK, I live here at Waynesboro, Va where Skyline Drive ends and The BRP begins. If you want to have the rally around here, I will be glad to plan out the rides. One maybe into WVa on Rt 33 and back into Va via Rt 250. A great ride. Those that attended the Elkins Rally of 08 will remember some of those roads. And another south on the BRP and loop around somewhere west of the BRP and back.
As I mentioned in the other 2010 Rally thread, the Big Meadows Lodge and campground would be a nice place to stay, but I feel that if you didn't have reservations well in advance of the date you won't get a room or camp space. So for those members that decide to attend at a later date won't be able to stay any where near the rest of the group that's at Big Meadows. The nearest hotel would be 15 to 20 miles away from Big Meadows. The BRP is about 50 miles away from Big Meadows at a 35mph speed limit.
Let me know if I can do any thing to help.

Thanks for the info classic. I will be contacting Big Meadows and some Waynesboro hotels/motels to see what is possible for a set up.

I'm thinking along the lines of a long ride on Tues/Wed and some shorter ones on Thursday followed by a end of rally dinner. Hopefully, we can get a couple more up that way to help our with leading rides.

Reading the different replies, some mention camping. I'll see what I can find that has camping and rooms.

Classic, sorry I haven't responded to this earlier. I appreciate your efforts. PM me some time if you have any updates. I'm going to work on this some more when I get back from Ohio.

Ok. One ride could be The Skyline Drive and another could be The Blue Ridge Parkway.
And CoachA, have a safe trip.
