2010 Rally

Shenandoah Valley in VA. sounds good to me only about 300 miles. I'm sure a lot of northeast nomaddicts would go. :)
OK! I go back home if I must :(

Sounds good to me fish. The more people that can come, the more ride options we should have. I do feel bad for our Florida guys... and gals.

Why feel bad for us? I will ride as far as I have to for the rally and so will most of us down here.

Because you have to travel so far enjoy some hills and twistys. On the positive side, you don't have to winterize your bike.

GGHOST...
Being so far south I'm strongly considering trailering my bike if it is a Mid Atlantic event. Not much fun running up and down I-75 dodging semi's at 80 mph. Everything I need I can pack in my vehicle. Call me a woose, maybe I'm getting old. ;)

Your not a wuss Joe. When Natalie and I go on our Honeymoon on October we plan to trailer the bikes up to Maggie Valley then on to Virginia. Because of time constraints and the fact we don't want to be exhausted when we get there.

When we come back, we would have to do 1700 miles in 2 days. Rather do that in a car then a bike.

Your getting back on the bike... YOU DA MAN JOE!!!

You aren't a wuss, just being practical. Me on the other hand, I will leave on a Saturday, take 3 days to get there and 3 to get back. Only about 900 miles up there for me, so 300 miles a day is cake.

OK...let me muddy the waters a little more......How about the Sylva/Waynesville area of NC. You have access to Asheville (Biltmore House etc), BRP, Cherokee Reservation, Great Smoky Mtn Pkwy, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Hwy 64's "waterfall" stretch of road, Deal's Gap, Nantahala River Gorge (whitewater rafting). then tons of nice roads everywhere.

A lot of talk about the next National has turned toward this side of the Mississippi...I am going to suggest this for that location also.........

That's also a good idea Todd.

Maybe we should visit one state in our area each year.
Each state will have nice places to ride and things to do. Look at Florida, even though we are the flattest, straightest and hottest state to possible want to ride in, we still have the Keys, Panama City and Daytona. There's enough to do and see to have a lot of fun no matter where we go.

Thanks for muddying the waters there Bumblebee. The dates are set, you guys figure out where you want to have it and let me know so I can help lay some ground work on where we can set up shop. Once we hit August, my time is very limited until December because of football.

Someone start another poll with some other options and we will reselect the site.

Personally, I've traveled the smokies regularly for fall colors - I was looking forward to Virgina and something new.

Maybe we can go to New Orleans instead?

While a good idea Jim, it isn't in our region...but maybe a group ride may be in order some time.
