Question I need luggage that fits my Vaquero- suggestions please!

Hi folks,
I've got a few trips coming up, and I won't be able to fit everything I need in my saddle bags, so I need a bag I can strap to the passenger backrest that will sit on the passenger pad behind my driver backrest.
Can anyone suggest specific bags that will fit the 2012 Vaquero? I ordered one online, and it was great looking, but won't fit over the backrest, so I'm returning it.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks, Archer

I used a Kuryakyn Gran Tour bag on my 05' 1500 Classic and now use it on my 15' Versys 650 LT.....strap it to the back seat in front of the top case and it holds a lot. Makes and acceptable back rest for those of us who don't have one.

Archer not sure which one you ordered but I got my through Fort Nine. I ran into the same problem, with the back rest pad on it was too tight to go over the frame, so I simply removed the backrest pad, by removing the two allen bolts. I got the Saddlemen S2600 Deluxe Sissy Bar Bag with the roll. It was still a tight fit but my bags were packed to the max for my week trip in Edmonton, AB. Push comes to shove, I can place the pad in one of the saddle bags and attach it when I get to where I'm heading

My Vaquero luggage

I went with Iron Rider luggage, this is the base unit. Under it has a zipper open pouch to access the clips for the back of luggage rack tie down/Clip. on the sides it has d-rings to clip on the back rest. Comes with all the straps hardware and rain cover. This is also a stackable base unit to get 3 other sizes. each one is about 100 bucks and less. All bags come with straps, clips and clip on shoulder straps to carry them off the bike. Very well constructed, holds its shape well and rain zippers.

After all this I wanted more so I bought this.

I built this for Sturges trip for my 1500 Vulcan, but the principle is the same. I was riding 1 up though. I took the pad off and added sides to the 2buh4s ( for you Mike) The sides held the suitcases up right and only ran 1 strap around the large case on the seat and the small case on the luggage rack. I did paint it black before I left. Make sure you have well tightened Head bearings. Had a bit of a wobble slowing down at 35mph with the weight. But that was the 1500 Vulcan. The 1700 is much better.

I use the Saddleman Roll Bag. It has a strap that runs under the seat and a velcro strap that cinches down on the backrest.

I have one that has a very wide and long velcro strap.
I'm sure it would fit any backrest made. Don't know what brand it is but will check tomorrow.
