Bleeding cyclinders

Hello friends! It is going to be around 50 degrees tomorrow and I have the day off. I have not yet changed my fluids and thought I would do this tomorrow.. My question is do I need to remove my floor board and shifter in order to get the side cover off to get to the slave cyclinder. I now the manuel says you do but the manual usally has you remove a lot of things you sometimes do not really have to.I know I will find out tomorrow but I was reading this site and thought I would see if it will wiggle off without removing the floor board and shifter lever. Thanks and have a good week. Mike Back in the 20's the first of the week!

The book is correct. You have to remove both shifters and the left floorboard to get the side cover off.

On the floorboard, I just loosen the front bolt, and remove the rear bolt, then pivot the floorboard down. You do have to remove both shifter levers, and to get them off, you must completely remove the bolts that clench the levers to the splined shaft or they won't slide off.

Yes, you have to get the floorboard out of the way in order to remove the shift levers - don't ask how I know this!
I removed the floorboard at the hinge pin, but the floorboard mount bolt idea is intriguing - could be faster.
The cover appears as if it could be wiggled off without removing the levers, but there's a couple problems with that. First, the bolts are held tightly in place in the cover by rubber grommets and once you get them unscrewed from the motor, they get in the way. Second, there's more to that cover than I thought. What I thought was part of the motor was actually black plastic attached to the cover itself, so the cover is much deeper than it looks.
