I use Motul 5100 4T 10 W 40

I only have a week or so left of insurance so my mileage won't be increased much now this yr.. If I change them over the winter, is there any point if the chains are going to cont. to stretch when I start to ride again in the spring.?

I got the manual out and did some reading on this job. It is a very good explanation on just what and how to do it. At least as good as the one in "Gadgets" website.
I'm sure things will become more clear once I get a tensioner out and see how it works.
I just dropped a note off to Joe at Chucksterscustoms.com to order a set of extenders. .......did I already say,....."using my gift cert. I won at the Redwoods Rally". Did you win anything from Chuckster Brad ?
I will probably do the job this winter.

When I did mine, I'm pretty sure I remember feeling the bike was immediately more "snappy" in it's response. Sloppy chain BAD, Tight chain GOOOOOD.

Thanks John, I will get hold of you if I have any concerns. Joe /Chuckster has sent them out already and could even be waiting for me at the cabin when I get there tomorrow. If they are I'll probably install/change them out next week. I'd like to see if there is much of a difference before I stop riding for this yr..
Hope all is well there for you.
