Spark plug removal tool. $15 on ebay

Just passing this along in case anyone needs one.
It says it's for a motoguzzi, but I don't see why it wouldn't work on our spark plug tubes. .

That certainly ought to work. I don't know how much Ma Kaw wants for hers but this looks like a pretty good price.

That tool is for the spark plug insert, and not the plug it self. I made mine from a bolt and 2 nuts... it isn't very pretty, but I can use 15 bucks for lots of other things..

it is also for the Ft axel.

Actually, I think the front axle requires a 22 mm hex, not 27 mm. If you have your stock tool kit the spark plug removal tool also fits the front axle. It handles the 80 ft-lb torque requirement for the axle with no problem.

Yeah, but it doesn't fit on my 1/2" torque wrench. I need to find a 22mm hex drive socket.

Update: I've checked Sears, Snapon, Matco and Mac tools websites and no luck finding a 1/2" 22mm hex bit.

Mac had sort of a "universal tool" made for sportbikes, it has 17 & 19mm drives on one end, flip it over and it has 22 &24mm drives. $36.99. Not exactly what I was looking for, but it would work.

Put a 17mm socket on the torque wrench. It fits on the small end of the spark plug tool.

Thanks, Bob. That would work, but I still want a 22mm hex bit.

Oops! I thought the insert and the axel were the same size..

In any case with either or, I would just buy a short bolt and 2 nuts. Force the nuts to be jammed and maybe weld them to either end fits a socket, and it is cheap.

I think the biggest allen I have is 17mm which was for mercedes gear boxes plugs. It is std Snap On, and can probably be had in SAE and in much bigger sizes. This one fits a 3/8" drive racthet.

The plug socket muliti tool is about the only tool in the supplied kit i see of as for much use. I was doubting that it could stand 80 ft pounds, but Bob if you say it can I believe it. Maybe it breaks away at 82 ft pnds so over torquing can't happen!

That will work fine. You would need a 22 mm socket to put on the torque wrench since that doesn't appear to have the 1/2" square inset to fit on a wrench.

I got one of those for about $16.00. From Cycle Gear, here's a link to buy one:

Bob.. Did you check at Harbour Freight for that 1/2" socket in the 22mm size? Or Sears? Just sayin' ;) Also on Gadget's site, he has a Metric to SAE conversion chart, you might find what you need on that chart. Take a look. Looks like about 7/8" would work. ;)
