Hello from Colorado

I see a lot of good info here so I decided to join. I have been riding motorcycles for about 40 plus years. I have owned Harleys,Suzukis, Hondas, and one prior Kawasaki. I also have owned a Triumph Rocket 3 which is the bike I got rid of to buy the Voyager. So far I really like the Voyager it is a 2009 Titanium and Black in color. It has 13800 miles on it when I bought it. Some older fella owned it and took real nice care of it. I have read some posts on heat and gear whine. I have been around Tractor Trailer rigs for 40 plus years I have heard lots of gear whine. I don't hear any at 70 on the Kawai. There is some whine at lower speeds but I don't pay to much attention to it I guess. After coming off a Rocket 3 the heat on the Kawai is a piece of cake. Just a couple of observations so far. Al

Welcome Big Al. As you saw there is plenty of good info. to be found here. I'm on my 4th. Vulcan the 1st. was a love/hate relationship. But I don't think the 1st. owner broke it in right. The last 2 were great bikes. I have just 5,000 on my new Nomad & so far I love it. I was just taking a break from planning my next trip. Rocky Mt. N.P. next June. Do you know any Motorcycle friendly campgrounds in the area?

Hi Johnny
There are many Campgrounds in the Estes Park area. Im not sure what you mean by motorcycle friendly as there are lots of bikes that visit that area all summer long. Its a real nice ride over the top and down to the Grand Lake area. There are also several other rides out of the Estes park area that you will find a lot on bikes on. I was in Estes yesterday with mine and the weather was just outstanding. When you come out be sure to let me know and maybe we can hook up for one of the rides. Al

Here & there I run across campgrounds that specifically want bikers to stop there. You end up in a campground of like minded people. Not next to the couple who give you the " Stay away from our kids" look or the old folks who don't even say "Good morning". I've never had a problem camping, but its good to find the ones that WANT bikers there.
