Seller claiming 2012 Voyager is a 2014?

Saw this Cycle Trader listing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that white/beige color scheme was only done in 2012, right? The description is also lame - just "Bike has been garaged its entire life. Never been in the rain." - and the seller only puts up 4 pics, and just of the right side.

Is the date of manufacture easily visible on Voyagers, and if so where is it? When I look at used ones I want to be able to verify the model year is what the seller claims. It's too hard for me to keep track simply by color, especially for those with gray or black in the color scheme. But since the white/beige scheme is one of my favorites, I could tell this add looked bogus. Cycle Trader lets you report adds, but I just want to confirm it's not a 2014 before I do this.

You are correct, check the link below for the colors of every year.

10th digit on the vin# will tell you what year it is.

If they provide it.

Thanks JD. I remember stumbling on this before, but couldn't remember where.

Thanks Scooter. Where's the VIN located on Voyagers?

It's a bad picture, but may help you see where it's at.

On the neck, just below the top of the tree.

I also noticed another CT add for a '12 where the seller has actually raised the price twice over the last few weeks, but it says "reduced" under the price. Perhaps the current price is still less than what it was originally listed at, but "reduced" in this instance still seems misleading. I might hit them up about that too.

Not saying the seller's at fault here - he/she can raise or lower the price as they see fit. Just think the "reduced" is misleading on a bike that was actually offered for a lower price earlier.

Yup, 2012.

Also, $9,000 with 30,000+miles?!!!

I actually had a non-refundable deposit on a 2012 w/ABS with 1,640 miles for $10,250, but found out it had no warranty, when I specifically was looking for a bike with a warranty. I ended up passing on it when the one I bought popped up for sale a week after making that deposit.

I bought my 2012 w/ABS with 4,580 miles and warranty until Dec 2019 for $9,250. Well, $9450 if you count the deposit I forfeited on the other bike, but my bike had the iPod hookup and the other bike didn’t have that, that was like a $120 value right there. So, technically I paid $9,330 for the bike, LOL!

There were 6 other identical Grey/Black ABS 2012’s across the country last year at the time for around $10,000 with under 5,000 miles and the 2012 Grey/Black was the harder color for me to find, I kept coming across the white ones!

Keep looking there are better deals out there. Try Searchtempest.com. It will search all of Craigslist either in your state or across the entire country depending on how you set the search options.

For example, this one is in Florida, but look at the mileage and price!

Same with this one in Illinois:

Yeah, there are plenty of better deals than this one. I'll try Searchtempest too.

Check out these two links I added to the bottom of my post you quoted before I made changes in the post.

Using your link I actually found the manual for the Voyager, which shows something different. I have no idea where the frame area is they show. Can anyone tell?

Looks like they're looking up the right front shock tower. About the same area, but looks more to be on the front of it. Even harder to see it would seem.

Yeah, seems kinda dumb they'd put it in such an obscure spot.

Yeah, luckily it is just vinyl letters that would come right off.

Also, the stamped vin is on the steering neck, you can see it by looking up under the fairing on the right side of the bike. That’s what they are trying to show in that left pic. It is also on a sticker on the frame down on the right side behind the front exhaust pipe.
