Throttle Sync Question

I put Kury grips on and often wondered if the FI is in sync and how I would know. I look at the 2 adjustments to see if they are approx. the same but how would one be sure they are?

Throttle Sync Question

If you mean the two throttle cables, they should have just a bit of freeplay in them. The cables do stretch over time. The other adjustment is the idle screw. You can check the voltage at the TPS sensor also, but if its running well thats it your done. The throttle body is a single unit shared by both cylinders.

Throttle Sync Question

changing grips doesn't in anyway effect the FI and the associated throttle position sensor.

Throttle Sync Question

so assuming there's different tensions between the 2 cables most likely, it doesn't affect the overall performance because that's preset by throttle position sensor?

Throttle Sync Question

your cables are hooked on the other end to the throttle bodies which are linked to the TPS and are adjusted on that end, not the other. adjusting the cables end play at the handlebar grips provides no FI adjustment. Just "takes up slack" on the grip end.

Throttle Sync Question

If there is enough slack in both cables before you adjust them, it might be possible to mis-adjust them so the throttles don't open all the way, or don't close all the way. Just look inside the right filter cover & make sure that doesn't happen, plus you have about 1/8" play in the cables total, and you'll be fine.

But you must have some play in the cables, so the RPM doesn't change when you steer the bike.

Throttle Sync Question

I have never checked these cables, but I suspect one pulls the throttle plate open and the other pulls it closed. So what to check is that you have it closing, and it open wide.
