Before tax, my bike was 17,200. The list was 19,450. The new Vaquero lists for 17,199. Everything is made to a price point and when you consider what the Concours comes with and it's less than a Vaquero, you have to wonder why? My guess is that Kawasaki enjoys wider profit margins on the Vulcans. Once you get over 17-18K in price, the stakes are raised. Over 20K and it's a completely different ball game.
