Time and Trip ODO resets

On the weekends I ride my 05 Nomad and I use the trip ODO to keep track of the miles that I get per tank of fuel.
I let the bike sit for 3 or 4 days and when I get back on it, the time has reset itself back to 1200 and the trip ODO has reset itself back to 0.
What would cause this?

Yep, that battery is on the way out.

Sooner than later.

So, I guess I better be looking at a replacement battery.
What brand do most people buy? My past bikes (yamaha) liked the Gel Mat Batteries with no particular brand being better, just making sure the CCA is up to the requirements.

I bought my bike 5 years ago with a Super Start AGM in it. I think Super Start is the brand. It is whatever they sell at O'Reilly Auto Parts. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was purported as being "new". Even if it was a year old at the time I bought my bike, I'm going into my sixth riding season with it with no problemo. It lives on a Battery Tender. Through the week and through the Winter months. My brother has a SS AGM in his bike two. No problemo after 3 seasons. I felt confident enough with the brand to have bought one for my ol' BMW airhead. 1 year so far and no problemo.

Whatever you do just don’t go super cheap. Those batteries are short-lived anyway.

My Deltran Lithium Battery is 9 years old. No problems with it yet. May buy a new one soon just so it doesn't go out on the road. Amazon has the new 480 cca deltran for 200.00 now.

OKAY, my odometer isn't working. '03' Nomad. It sat for a long time with the battery disconnected. I did remove the speedometer and removed the film from the odometer / window (it had curled up like burnt plastic, but was working). Every thing else works as normal. Suggestions.........used meter assembly is pricey. A new Yuasa battery, :<( so confused.
