Mean Streak wiring diagram

Anyone got a complete wiring diagram or factory manual specific to the Mean Streak? I'm looking for diagrams and info to detail the speedometer and tach for the Mean Streak. Thanks.

Clymer repair manuals have a colored electrical schematics....I'd scan mine in, but the powers that be are kinda funky about putting certain materials out on web sites....the clymers are pretty comprehensive....hope this helps....

Thanks. I basically need to see the connections from the crankshaft speed sensors to the ECU to the gauge unit on the Mean Streak. I'm guessing the connections are similar to those for the 1700 crankshaft sensor to the ECU and to the gauge set. Basically I'm looking for the details on getting an engine speed signal to the 1700 gauge set I plan to use on my 1600 frame mounted faring setup.

Just betting on Kawasaki using the same sensor and signal system from the crankshaft sensor to the gauges on a Meanie being basically the same on the 1700 Voyager and Vaquero.

I did find a complete wiring diagram for a Mean Streak. It shows the Mean Streak has a different ECU than doe the Classic and Nomad, even though the engine and chassis are very similar. By the way the ECU past number for the Classic and Nomad is 21175-0012. The ECU part number for the Mean Streak is 21175-0048. Looking at the wiring diagram one of the obvious differences is the Mean Streak has a tach that the Classic and Nomad do not have. Yet all VN1600 models use the same speed sensor reading the output gear (15 teeth).

The MS ECU has the same number of pins as does the ECU for the Classic or Nomad. But, not all the same pins are used on the MS versus the Classic and Nomad. The wiring diagram for the MS does show the speed sensor output goes to the ECU, and the ECU has two wires up to the tach. The wiring diagram for the Classic and Nomad also show the speed sensor output goes to the ECU, but the wires from the ECU go to the distance sensor in the center console. I'd attach a jpg of the wiring diagram but the system says the file is too large.

So are you thinking a meanstreak ecu could run our bikes but also give a tach signal? Gonna be in the garage today trying to get my speedo to run 60 mph

Maybe, maybe on the Mean Streak ECU, that's assuming the MS ECU is also CANBUS to the tach. But also the output from the MS ECU would have to be the same as to the VN1700 tach to communicate on the CANBUS. So many "ifs".

If I had access to a MS ECU I would just try it. But I'm not buying a MS ECU just to find out. Every MS ECU I shopped on Ebay was over $200 to almost $400.

Damn that's high for an ecu on a bike that's been out of production for a while
