Vibration

Just passed 2,000 miles and I have, what I would consider, a lot of engine vibration on my 08 Nomad. Especially in 5th gear under full throttle or hard acceleration. I'm not lugging it, talking about rolling hard on the throttle at 3000-3500+ RPM.
Smooth at steady RPM. Only feel it under acceleration.
Normal for a Kawasaki?
I can feel it throughout the bike, grips, feet, seat.

I don't have it anymore in 5th gear than the others. If yours is particularly so in 5th, it's acting different than mine.

Loose and tight your engine bolts, your bike is still running in and the engine mounting rubbers have to take the right position.

Success!

dkdixie, That doesn't sound right, keep looking into it. Get the vibration confirmed by Kaw and they should take care of it.

Your bike has multiple personality disorder, It thinks its a Harley.

Rolling the throttle on at 3-3500 rpms in 5th is anywhere from 80 to 95 mph. Is that the speed your talking about?

Yes, around 80 per speedometer and 3500 per tach. Was just checking pull at this speed & RPM'S. Don't usually ride close to this fast.

At that speed could it be out of balance tires? My car started vibrating whenever I went over 75...turned out to be a bad tire.

Just for comparison for you, when I went from a 99 Nomad with 63,000 miles, to an 05 Nomad, I was used to a certain amount of vibration. The sweet spot on the freeway seemed to be about 75mph.

On my first out of town trip on the 05 I was going two up with my wife. I couldn't keep it under 90mph. Every time I saw my speed I'd slow down, then the next time I'd look I was going 90 again.

So the "feel" of the 05 was at 90mph what my 99 was at 75mph.

Yours is different. Good luck on finding out why.

Good info dan...The sweet spot on my 05 Nomad is 75. Anything between 60 and 70 and I just drift up and down several MPH.

I guess I should consider myself lucky? My sweet spot is when the motors on? 50-100 there is no vibs anywhere!!! I start at 70 and damn if after awhile I'm at 95 again? mirrors glass smooth at all speeds and no buzzing anywhere. I've had bikes that had a smooth spot at certain speeds but my Nomad has none...
