Question The Amount of NEW POST changing?

Hi,

I log on every day to check the new post. Some days there are 1 to 3 pages of new post. Other days there are 7 new post (that is posts not pages). What is the reason for that? Do some expire after a certain amount of time? Or is there a setting that I need to change?

Thanks
Rhys

I think it depends on how often you check the new posts, the longer it has been the more there are to scroll through.

Also depends on "traffic". Sometimes it's a little slow.

What they both said has an effect on how many show.
New Posts is the only thing I look at on here unless someone sends me hate mail.

I logged on one morning and it had been 24 hours since I had logged on previously and there were zero new posts showing. Didn't understand that myself. Next day there were a couple of pages.

Glitch in the Matrix. It happens sometimes. One of the things I've noticed with vBulletin is sometimes the updates get wonky. Other than that, I don't think there's better forum software out there.

It also seems if you "log-out" the system "clears" itself somewhat. I could be wrong but that is what seems to happen for me.

Oh good, and here I thought it was something I was doing. I feel better now knowing I am not alone.

Could be something in an add-on, plug-in or modification, as basic vBulletin software does not have this issue. Even on the support forum with hundreds of people logged in at the same time, and several hundred new posts every day, that has not been a reported problem.

Good point. Maybe something incompatible but figuring that out is like finding an electrical short. Could take forever to find it, no matter how good you are.
