20 days Let the countdown begin

20 days left to get everything done I need to get done to leave for my trip. My brother and I and 3 other guys will be leaving Wisconsin to head out to Bellingham, Washington. We will be going through South Dakota checking out a few things there like the Crazy Horse Exhibit, Mt. Rushmore, etc.... We will go through Yellowstone NP, through Idaho. I have been wanting to do a trip like this for a LONG time but I have never been able to do it until now. As you can tell, I am really looking forward to it.

All I have left to do is get a cooler rack built and mounted to the trailer, and get some new tires on the bike. An oil change and an inspection of the bike from front to back and we will be on our way. I will try to take some pictures of the trip. One of the guys is having a video camera mounted on his bike and we are going to try and get some footage of the ride and the scenery.

Do you have any other suggestions of things I ought to check before I take off?

Thanks!
John

OOh!!! Mounted video cameras are the best! You can get some of the best footage, that you would never be able to get otherwise!

I don't worry much about mechanicals on trips beyond what you are doing. There isn't much difference, from the bikes perspective, between a 3,000 mile trip, and 10- 300 mile ones.

One thing that some don't remember to do is call your credit card company and tell them what states you are going through. If you don't, they think your card has fraudulent activity, and paying at the pump no longer works, you have to go in and sign for the gas. Or they cut it off completely.

So in 20 days, call the credit card company and go have a great time!

The Black Hills are awesome, enjoy it.

I love trips, I'm a bit jealous.

If you run into some Internet connection, tell us what's up while you are out.

Have a safe trip, and enjoy it :)
