Wife is riding on her own.

After many years and miles with Krystal being my backseat partner, we did something different because we had our exchange student Julia with us. Krystal has owned a Suzuki Burgman 400 for a couple years and has ridden it to work but never on a trip. Well this year she had to or stay at home.

Well, she did an excellent job of riding on her first long distance trip. We did have to go slower than I normally run but it was for her. She really didn't like the wind until I talked her through it and on the way home she handled it much better. She enjoyed the trip and mentioned that she prefered this to the seat on my bike for comfort.

As for me, I did enjoy seeing her ride and like it. Down side was trying to watch for her and everyone else and keeping a watchful eye on her riding. Crap, I was drained after a days ride but I wouldn't trade the experience for anything else.

Best part about the Burgman, it was excellent on gas. Worst tank was 54 mpg and the best was 77 mpg. Most of the tanks were above 65 mpg. Much better than I budgeted for.

Keep up the good work sweetie.

Good story. Wish I got that kind of mileage on my Nomad!

Thats really funny Joel. Is this your comeback after she told all of us she was constantly having to wait for you because you ride so stinking slow??

I know what you mean about being drained.
My wife (also Crystal) got a trike and now I have to look out for her too.
At least I feel like I do. And a little bit of worrying, but feel like I shouldn't.

Trying to leave room for both of us to turn, pull out of parking lots etc.
It takes a bit of getting use to.
But like you, I enjoy seeing her ride.

My wife's done riding on the back. In a way I kinda miss it.

Eventually may look at that. Right now I like the fuel mileage too much. The only places she couldn't keep up was climbing I-70 on 2 passes. Looked back and "Where are you Dear?". Response back was "It's floored."

I like it that the ladies are riding, great experience for them. Guys I
don't think you need to worry about them as much as you think.

Congrats to Krystal! And I don't think you need to worry about her. If she ever gets the 650, Nomad might have to catch up with her 8-))

When I first said I was gonna get a bike, my wife said so was she. She said she wouldn't let me ride all by myself, neither would she sit on my back. So we ended up buying two Suzuki C50s.

I feel real fortunate that we ride together...

It is cool to see her riding her own.
