New Vulcan S

New 650 cc parallel twin. Not too bad. I can see a market for this.

My first impressions.

It looks okay apart from the muffler that looks like it belongs on a barbecue.
It is also quite heavy at 500 lbs without accessories.

3.7 gallon gas tank. They must think people just ride around town.

Nothing about the new Vulcans stand out for me in this years lineup.

With the muffler positioned where it is one can forget about running white walls.

The adjustability to it is good to fit more riders. If MPG is in the high 50s - 60 range, even the tank size should be ok for most. Does seem a bit heavy, weighing as much as my 05 800b did new. Perhaps its a larger bike than we think?

"In addition to the Ergo-Fit options, there are a number of accessories to make the Vulcan S more able on longer tours. Luggage racks, saddlebags, windscreens, passenger seats and more will be available".

I kinda like the looks of it. 3.7 US gallons anyone know what that is in litres? My wife's vstar 650 Silverado has a 16 litre tank and is around 275km before switching to reserve. 500 lbs doesn't sound too bad - her vstar comes in at 580 with the bags windshield and backrest. I believe Yamaha has sold a few of these bikes over the years

No thanks, not for me. Might be a nice starter bike for some.

Hi, To answer your question, it's 14 litters.
