What's the Velcro Strap for Behind Left Side Cover

The 1500 and the 1600, have a tool storage area with a pull down door. Inside it supposed to be a tool set in a black plastic wrap. The bike is supposed to come with just 1 tool kit, not 2 not 3 and not 6, just 1...

If you got any Snap On tools in it, that means some pimple faced 18 year old and not so wise tech forgot them in there.

The strap is for the charcoal emmisions canister, and is empty holding nada... Unless you got a Cali bike.

If you found a tool wrap in the strap, you might want to investigate whats behind door number 1 because thar's no tellin...

That storage are just might be safe unless a dog is looking...

No money was found anywhere on either my 1500, or 1600, so if there is any money as spare you must have been High high high and forgot you put it there

Doc in your special case that strap is supposed to hold a rope with a handle on it like for old outboard engines. Also it is supposed just in your case a gyroscope so you know which way is up! ;) And don't go tellin me you found any money anywhere on your bike.. I know you spent it all on bling..

I though the strap was needed for those extra special maneuvers that Dan does.

I feel like a dumbass, now I have to go look behind door number one, which I have inadvertantly overlooked for some time.

The PO of my '04 told me it never came with any tools. I discovered them shortly after arriving home when looking through the manual. Never had the heart to tell him where they were all that time.

But it takes away the thrill of discovery. And if I start following directions....where will it end.

LOL Reminds me of a Volvo customer, in because hish heat wouldn't shut off. That was a cable out of adjustment, but it was a hot day, and I opened the air vent on the kick panel and forgot to close it.

The next day the guy was back complaining about now there was a cold draft of his legs

I told him I probably left the vent open and he swore there was no such thing.

I showed him and for the first time he realized a new controll he never knew about and that car was 10 years old and he was the original owner....

Well, I did find a brand spankin new tool kit hidden right where you all said. However, I use the term "tool" loosely for what I found. I think I'll keep the tools I have stashed above that little hidden door instead.

I'da thought, if someone paid over $10k for the bike, they'd have a little nicer "tool" kit to them.
