Final Gear Case oil part II

Been all over looking for gl5 90w (Recommended by manual). None to be found. No info found on what can be used in place of. I would suspect 80-90. I figure I would get everyone's opinion on this. Thanks!

For the rear diff the manual calls for 75-90W gear oil. In oct. Im switching to that weight in the Mobil-1 synthetic.

Doc you will go a bit more distance per gallon when you do. You may not be able to tell, but you will.

I'm running Amsoil 75-140. It's all I could get and it works OK for me.

KenBob, just read on the back and make sure it says "safe for hypoid". that makes it a gl4/gl5 gear oil.

I located some gl6 90w. owners manual states that gl6 is ok as well. Will be changing the fluid this evening. Most likely go to 80-90 when this is gone after 4 services.

I've been running 75w-90 Mobil-1, but last time I threw in a dollop of Mobil-1 grease to thicken it up just a little.

As my bikes getting some miles on it I will probably switch to 75w-140 next spring.

Thoose CA symbols are greek to me, guess its just a difference in stating oil weights in Canada.
