Flasher Relay LED mod

Just curious to know if anyone has done this mod. I just bought the resistor and tomorrow will be installing my front and rear LED’s. Will be giving it a try but wanted to see if anyone has done it. Thanks

I can't read or see the image you have but a good electronic flasher would not need load resistors. However, most would not handle your self-canceling turn signals. I have not converted mine. I have only had one lamp go out in the last 20 years. I did covert the brake and tail lights on an old Yamaha Roadstar because of an anemic charging system. If you use resistors you have the same load or more so the only advantage is the LEDs are more reliable.

I’m going to try and upload a link for a better image. I didn’t realize it was that fuzzy after the upload

I have LED flashers up front but just used these available at Walmart:

I am running this from custom dynamics
https://www.customdynamics.com/unive...ualizer?cat=59

But you could simply wire up a trailer wire isolator and would do the same thing.

I am running the same unit Lumberjack posted from Custom Dynamics. I removed all of my factory signals and installed custom LED's all around. I know it's an expensive little fella, but I liked 2 things: that there was a 2 position switch to adjust resistance, and that it was rated for a bike with hazard flashers. Maybe not for everyone, but I've never had the first indication of a hiccup.

The $6 resistors I used work with the flashers, too, all they do is simulate the presence of a bulb.

So I did the mod yesterday and wanted to report that it worked out flawlessly. Here’s a link to some pictures and videos I made https://flickr.com/photos/181983783@...57709152911196

I like it, well done!
The switchback LEDs are awesome.
May play with that on the REAR of my scoot --> red/amber...

Ride safe,
Smokier

I thought of doing something like that on my previous bike but it will also required a run/turn/brake module it would definitely look nice.

I installed the yellow/red switchbacks on my Nomad. Instead of getting the run/turn/brake, I just replaced the light sockets with 1157 sockets. Then tapped into the run light wire from the main taillight/ brake light and fed it to both turn signals. Now I have additional running lights (red) and when using the turn signals (yellow/red alternating). I dont get the extra brake lights, but with as bright as the main one already is, I'm out with it. The additional running lights are nice and bright too.
