Ferry to Nova Scotia
For anyone from the states going to the N.S. Ralley there is a Ferry from Portland Maine to N.S. About a 5 hr trip ! From Portland it is about a 14 hr ride !
Food for thought https://www.ferries.ca/thecat/

I do agree taking the ferry might save a couple hours but not much. Yarmouth to Baddeck will take around 7 hours of riding time. Portland Maine to Baddeck just over 10 hours. So other that saving 3 hours of riding time, you will save a great deal of money. The ferry is not cheap. The ride on the other hand is worth spending a little more saddle time.

The times I wrote were riding time, and not allowing for gas stops, food, or just breaks. The ferry cost was expensive last year but I can't remember the cost. I'll will try to find what it cost this year, and post it.

I have post a link to the local paper, which the story was the ferries 2017 Cat Ferry fares. You will find it in the "Dates for the 2018 group rally" thread. Sorry, wrote it on the wrong thread but it may be of use to everyone thinking of attending.

There is also a ferry from St.John New Brunswick to Digby NS. 3 hour crossing. There is a good chance you will see some whales on that trip. I think the cost is around $177 Canadian return. There also is a senior discount.
