Hit what?

Recently there was a thread inquiring what animals members have hit with their motorcycle. In my response I talked about the fact I don't like to ride at night because I've hit 3 deer and my wife has hit 2 in the last 3 1/2 yrs or so. It's been kind of a joke around the house and we've gotten to the point that we have this imaginary tote board that we keep count, similar to when I go hunting with the boys during the season. So anyway, I was in the lead with 3.

Now when I was on my way home from work today, I thought I saw a leaf heading for my bike but when it hit the chrome and lower part of the windshield and heard the clang I knew it wasn't a leaf. I now lead with 3 Deer and one sparrow, which is still wedged in there pretty tight.

No damage..........to the Nomad

Remember to keep your eye on the sparrow.

Wasn't that the theme from Baretta?

'Round here, we've got suicidal squirrels. The damn things love playing in the road and just can't make up their little minds about which way they want to run. Then, there is peter cotton-tails. Deer are abundant, but we've been lucky so far in the cars and on the bike. I don't like riding from dusk to dawn.

Sparrow salad sandwich tomorrow? Makes it easy to pad out with lots of pickle relish.

Hit what?

You know, last year coming out of Cody Wyoming, we hit a magpie. The dumb bird hit just above the Vulcan badge on the windshield. Made one h-ll of a sound but no damage to the bike.
Also I hit a roadkill opossom... Come up over a hill in a real bad rain storm, there he (or she) was. Did not swerve, couldn't. I think it was a good experience to know what it's like and what to expect when hitting a animal that size. Bump bump.... ::)

One bird for me. Almost had a Great Dane run out in front of me a while back. That would have been tragic.
