Tire size change question
Time for new sneakers on my 2000 1500 nomad. I read somewhere on here a while ago that some were changing there sizes for better handling. Mine has stock 150 80 16 on it now. I have decided to go with the shinko 777 hd white wall set up. What sizes work well for you guys?

130/80x16 or maybe it was a 130/90x16
I put one on my 1600. It does seem to handle a little better.

Yes on the front you can go with a 130/90-16, or a MT90-16. On the rear of the 1500s, stock size is a 150/80-16, and I think you can go up to a 180/70-16.

You can go up to a 195/65/16 on your 1500.
Right now I have 130/90/16 front and 140/90/16 e rear Shinkos on my Nomad. The narrower tires seem to liven things up a bit.

130/90/16 on the front is much better than the original. I dont get dragged around by ruts & grooves in the road so much.

With so many people touting the improvement in handling, I went with a 130/90 front tire on my Yamaha Venture. I felt nothing different. No improvement. I sold the bike (with 177,000 on the clock) and I went to a 139/90 on my '06 Nomad, again following all the raves about handling, I felt no change. I must be the only one in the world that didn't feel any change, but that's my $.02 worth.

You must be the only one in the world with a 139/90 on your Nomad.

I put Shinko 777's on my 1600, a 130/90 up front. It rides and handles better than the Metzlers that were on it before.
