Greetings Nortex,
Which bike? Nomad, Vaquero, Voyager. Presumably a Vaq or Voy based on the `10" ' comment? What year? ABS or or not? Search the forum, there are several recent discussions on bars... FMB CHOPPER is one option. Stay 12" or less, unless you want to change cables/hoses. Go 10" to be sure you are not going to run into cable/hose issues. Happy Shopping! Smokier

I did some research on this topic and found out from another member that when you go to taller bars the break lever could potentially ( does ) hit the side of the windshield when you do a full turn which can be bad . Roaring toys has a nice set of bars and they do mention this .
Most of the pics I see on line with 10" to 12" only show Vaq's with only the visor . I decided to pass on the taller bars because I rather ride without the wind in my face . If you are successful in doing taller bars with a windshield let me know . I had planned on doing taller bars with a 21" front tire . The Vaq's look awesome done that way . Good luck with your mod .... |

You can restrict your turning radius some with a piece of 1/2" brake hose on the steering stem. It only affects parking and slow really tight Driveway turns, and you loose the (thunk) when you hit the stop. You can even raise stock bars an 1" or so without hitting a Vaquero fairing in a tight turn. It could be enough to take the accidental bump out of the brake lever hitting the shield?

Norte, I'll let you know how it works when they are installed. Not posting any more lessons learned nor pics tired of "WHERE ARE THE PICS" comments...

Ok, perhaps I misconstrued your comments Sven. Will chalk it up to internet confusion. Will continue to post pics as I finish projects.

Thanks ! I would love to do some many things with my bike, but the german TÜV (similar to the DOT, but way more strict) does not allow those things. Ivans flash - not possible due to emission tests on bikes here Different bars, foot pegs, highway pegs, headlights, turn signals, etc. not allow without a E-mark (compareable to DOT SAE) or you need a special manufactor report for the TÜV about that the part is proven, etc. Tires - only same brand front and rear, no car tires, etc. Even If I don't like some things/parts/etc. on some bikes it is cool to see what you guys could to. Been three times to the daytona bike week and I can tell you 99% of all bikes would not be approved /street legal for germany. Cu, Sven

Wow, knew from my trips to Germany they were much stricter as far as vecicles and licensing goes, but I had no idea it was that strict.

I did receive the mini apes in the mail, just waiting till I have time to cut and splice all the wires to install them. I intend to run the wires inside the bars, just haven't psyched myself up for that much soldering yet. Think I read something like 30-4o wires. Ugh
