Hi there, I've recently bought a 1999 Nomad, having previously owned a 1998 1500 Vulcan Classic. Can someone tell me the rear brake disc diameter please.Pete

Welcome from Ontario!!. Itried a tape without removing the bags and it looks like its 11 1/2" to 12" dia. as best as I can tell.
You can find out in the manual or on the spec pages also.

Welcome to the Nomad Nation from the Grand Canyon State. I have a 1600, so I can't tell you for sure what the size of a 1500 disc is.

You may already know this, but the 1999 Nomads have a plastic oil pump drive gear which will fail and cause a very costly engine repair. Until last year, Kawasaki replaced the plastic gear on their dime, but they no longer do that. If you don't know for sure if the gear has been replaced it would be worth it to have a dealer look up your VIN in the computer to see if there's a record of it being done. The 1999 Nomad is the only Nomad with a serious defect like this. There is a steel oil gear replacement procedure that can be done before the plastic gear fails that does not require the disassembly of the engine.

12.5" to 12.625" depending upon the accuracy of the measurement.
