I lost a very good friend tonight. she was riding behind her husband and they had a wreck, she didn't make it. Can anyone from this area give me more info on the wreck?

Sorry about your loss. :'( I have looked at all the local papers and news and could not find any definite stories about your friends.
The close as I can find is this. http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?se...cal&id=6818025

I do not know if this story is about them they did not give names.
I will continue to look but bike accidents are not real high profile here.

Scoot, this was posted on the southern cruisers conroe chapters forum.

On behalf of everyone with the Sons of Texas Motorcycle Touring Association, I would like to thank everyone for their prayers and phone calls concerning the motorcycle accident that happened yesterday involving a few of our members. Prayers for the injured and fallen Sons of Texas MTA members are greatly appreciated.
Renae "Sha Nae Nae" Tezenos was thrown from her husband's bike when the chain malfunctioned and locked up the rear wheel while they were returning from the COC meeting on 45 near Hwy 6. Renae was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital. As other SOT members were riding in formation behind the compromised bike several brothers went down as well.
Max "Mad Max" Tezenos is in the trauma unit of Memorial Hermann in the Medical Center. He has some serious injuries but none that are life threatening. He also has posttraumatic stress from losing his wife and the doctors are keeping him heavily sedated.
Corey "Block" Dalfrey is in UTMB in Galveston with head injuries. He is in the Intensive Care Unit and his injuries are serious but the doctors are very optimist about his condition and do not feel that they are life threatening.
Gilbert "Hunter" Joines is also at UTMB with non-life threatening injuries. The hospital kept him overnight for observation but he is expected to be released today.
This has been a time of tragedy and mourning for the Sons of Texas MTA. We truly appreciate any and all prayers for our injured brothers and fallen sister.

Take care and ride safe.
Denise "Pistol" Ferguson
State Secretary/Treasurer
Sons of Texas MTA

Thanks I found the Sons of Texas web site and was able to read it. But I found out yesterday it was not the chain..... The back axle is what broke.....still just so hard to believe

My thoughts and prayers go out to all the injured and their families. It is such a tragedy. I remember two or three years back during the Trail of Tears ride one of the riders had a front fork to break resulting in his death. At least that is what I was told. Once again, thoughts and prayers to all concerned. It saddens my heart so much to hear of this tragedy.
