2006 for sale

After long and careful consideration it is with great sadness I hereby inform everyone I have decided to sell. On my trip I had lots of time to think and the 100 voices in my head voted 51 to 49 to sell. With 2 kids under the age of 3 I am post poning my biker ambitions a few years. Black Betty is for sale for what I owe on her - $7800 with 4500 miles :'(

Sorry to hear that WM...but I completely understand. I was off one until my two got older. Sounds like a good buy

Wolfman - we also did the same. When boys got older hubbie got another bike then I learned to ride my own. We stopped riding and sold bikes while boys were little. One boy rides now the other don't the one that doesn't is married and has a one year old.

WM: i understand your decision. When i got married in '85 I had a Honda V-45 magna and wife made me sell her. In '06 I finally got to buy my '05 Nomad new after a long hiatus. it's good to be back and so will you. hang in there.

OK todd, that picture of you sitting on your bike is not helping me. It looks too cool I don't think I can sell it! I changed my mind. My wife always tells me to do what I want - sometimes its a curse because I never have a voice of reason telling me what I should do so I often make stupid decisions like "sell the bike" sorry everyone for the false alarm.

Wolfman......I'll be glad to be your voice of reason.

<marquee>DON'T SELL.....DON'T SELL.....DON'T SELL!!!</marquee>

Have you thought of maybe just letting it sit in the garage and take a stroll every now and then instead of selling it entirely? I'm sure you have.

Whatever decision you arrive at, we understand. Many of us have been through it. But, I hope it's a false alarm.

Yeah, I'm keeping it. I've already done this before with 2 other bikes ( the Nomad is the 3rd bike I've owned in 4 years) you would think I would have learned my lesson 2 other times. Even if I don't ride as much as I'd like I can still get away once in a while. I was lucky enough to buy my first house when I did 5 years ago in Salt Lake county. The real estate market really shot up fast since then so I sold my house for $150,000 more than I owed - moved about 1/2 hour out of Salt lake and got a brand new house on a fixed 20 year loan for 585 a month! Thats cheaper than our 1 bedroom apartment we were living in when we first got married so I guess thats why my wife is pretty easy going about it.

<marquee>YAY!</marquee>

Glad you decided to keep it wm. I'm certain you would have regretted selling your bike after it was all said and done.

2006 for sale

I understand WM. I was out of motorcycling for 20 years until I became an empty nester. Actually, and I hate to admit it, right after I bought my Nomad, say 2 months after I had bought my Lady nice riding gear she told me in no uncertain terms that she will not ride on the back of that murdercycle! Even though she went to all the motorcycle shows and took pictures of me sitting on one, she never let on that she hated them!

Well when she sprung this on me, I was so angry I listed it in the local paper for sale for a week. When she saw what I was doing she acted shocked.

Later after a week I did some long distance days on the bike and made up my mind to keep her! One night after dinner I told her it was not for sale anymore and I was going to keep it. She asked why I changed my mind (see, I understand you WM!) and I told her that the call to go back to motorcycling lasted for 20 years and I'm not given up on it because she doesn't want to go riding with me.

I did lay down the law that I will take vacations with my buddies and we will ride and she needs to shut up about it and if not, too stinkin' bad! Don't ask where or when I go, just tell me to be safe and shut up about it! I know its not very diplomatic but given the above it's the best answer I could come up with!

When asked, I just say "somewhere" and whe asked what time? I just say when I get tired.

My dream is now a reality and I ride my Nomad all over the place. At 50 and beyond its all about me now. It's time....
